Firefox

All my Firefox plugins and Settings

Every time i open Firefox on a new machine i wonder why everything is so strange. So here is a list of plugins and settings for my Firefox Installations

Plugins

Adblock Plus

What are all those strange blinking things on this site? I use the Filter Subscription from Dr.Evil.

CS Lite

I want control over my cookies. Cookies are globally blocked. Sites that should be able to set cookies are allowed on a per page basis (temporarily or permanent).

CustomizeGoogle

Remove annoying test and "expert" sites from google results. Enable those filters with Preferences->Web->Enable Filter and set them in Preferences->Filter. For example add http://www.experts-exchange.com/* to get rid of this stupid community with login but different for google pages.

Firebug

Nothing to say about this one.

FireGestures

I love the the trackball. Wiggle back and forth to get a new tab and all other shortcuts.

Flashblock

All Flashs are replaced with a placeholder. If you still want to watch them, click them to show. This also removes a lot of the Flash Cookies

Stylish

Your favorite webpage uses a small font? Uses a stupid background color? got rid of the ads but now there are those empty areas? Customize the stylesheet!

Tree Style Tab

Tabs on the side (yes i know opera has it...) hierachical. Great

Settings

Open about:config

browser.blink_allowed -> false

browser.display.background_color -> #FFFF99 (nice yellow background to catch stylesheet errors that rely on the default white)

browser.safebrowsing.enabled -> false (speed-safety tradeoff. i know what i'm doing no need to load huge sqlite databases and waste time)

browser.safebrowsing.malware.enabled -> false (same)

network.http.pipelining -> true (speeeeed)

browser.identity.ssl_domain_display -> 1 (display blue box for https connections. Like the green box for EV-Certificates)
